149

npm hook add <pkg> <url> <secret> [--type=<type>]
150npm hook ls [pkg]
151npm hook rm <id>
152npm hook update <id> <url> <secret>
153

154
Note: This command is unaware of workspaces.

155
Description

156
Allows you to manage npm
157hooks,
158including adding, removing, listing, and updating.

159
Hooks allow you to configure URL endpoints that will be notified whenever a
160change happens to any of the supported entity types. Three different types
161of entities can be watched by hooks: packages, owners, and scopes.

162
To create a package hook, simply reference the package name.

163
To create an owner hook, prefix the owner name with
~
(as in,
164
~youruser
).

165
To create a scope hook, prefix the scope name with
@
(as in,
166
@yourscope
).

167
The hook
id
used by
update
and
rm
are the IDs listed in
npm hook ls

168for that particular hook.

169
The shared secret will be sent along to the URL endpoint so you can verify
170the request came from your own configured hook.

171
Example

172
Add a hook to watch a package for changes:

173

$ npm hook add lodash https://example.com/ my-shared-secret
174

175
Add a hook to watch packages belonging to the user
substack
:

176

$ npm hook add ~substack https://example.com/ my-shared-secret
177

178
Add a hook to watch packages in the scope
@npm

179

$ npm hook add @npm https://example.com/ my-shared-secret
180

181
List all your active hooks:

182

$ npm hook ls
183

184
List your active hooks for the
lodash
package:

185

$ npm hook ls lodash
186

187
Update an existing hook's url:

188

$ npm hook update id-deadbeef https://my-new-website.here/
189

190
Remove a hook:

191

$ npm hook rm id-deadbeef
192

193
Configuration

194

registry

195

196
Default: "https://registry.npmjs.org/"

197
Type: URL

199
The base URL of the npm registry.

201

202
Default: null

203
Type: null or String

204

205
This is a one-time password from a two-factor authenticator. It's needed
206when publishing or changing package permissions with
npm access
.

207
If not set, and a registry response fails with a challenge for a one-time
208password, npm will prompt on the command line for one.
