17195972f6Sopenharmony_ci lwIP is an open source implementation of the TCP/IP
18195972f6Sopenharmony_ci protocol suite that was originally written by <a
19195972f6Sopenharmony_ci href="http://www.sics.se/~adam/lwip/">Adam Dunkels
20195972f6Sopenharmony_ci of the Swedish Institute of Computer Science</a> but now is
21195972f6Sopenharmony_ci being actively developed by a team of developers
22195972f6Sopenharmony_ci distributed world-wide. Since it's release, lwIP has
23195972f6Sopenharmony_ci spurred a lot of interest and has been ported to several
24195972f6Sopenharmony_ci platforms and operating systems. lwIP can be used either
25195972f6Sopenharmony_ci with or without an underlying OS.
26195972f6Sopenharmony_ci </p>
27195972f6Sopenharmony_ci <p>
28195972f6Sopenharmony_ci The focus of the lwIP TCP/IP implementation is to reduce
29195972f6Sopenharmony_ci the RAM usage while still having a full scale TCP. This
30195972f6Sopenharmony_ci makes lwIP suitable for use in embedded systems with tens
31195972f6Sopenharmony_ci of kilobytes of free RAM and room for around 40 kilobytes
32195972f6Sopenharmony_ci of code ROM.
